Alps Industries Ltd, a manufacturer of yarns and furnishings, has reported a 72 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 8.39 crore (Rs 4.85 crore) for the quarter ended September 30. Net sales have nearly doubled to Rs 112.85 crore (Rs 56.81 crore).

The company's net profit for the six-month period stood at Rs 15.51 crore compared to Rs 9.36 crore in the corresponding period of the last year. Net sales rose to Rs 205.96 crore (Rs 108.70 crore).

Commenting on the Q2 performance, Mr Sandeep Agarwal, MD, Alps Industries Ltd, said, "Growing demand coupled with better cost efficiencies and capacity expansions have resulted in better bottom line as well as top line growth. The company's commitment to technology and innovation, coupled with excellent responses from global as well as domestic customers have helped us grow at this heady rate."
