The National Botanical Research Institute of India has recently transferred four patented technologies to Alchemist Ltd. The Rs 1,500-crore company is likely to start production of the four nutraceutical products in November. They include Nutra-lact, Nutra-balyog, Nutra-preg which would address the problem of malnutrition and the anti-diabetic drug Nutra-diab.

"The future is in affordable healthcare, and we will be moving in these identified areas very aggressively and aim to be a significant group in healthcare very soon. We will take these home-grown and researched products and turn them into potent OTC brands very quickly," said Mr K.D. Singh, Chairman, Alchemist Group.
