New Delhi, April 6

THE consultancy arm of Indian Railways, RITES Ltd, has won five contracts amounting to $40 million from Transport Ministry of Angola for implementing railway rehabilitation projects for CFM (Caminho de Ferro de Mocamedes) Railways, Angola, said a company release.

One of the largest projects secured by RITES in recent years, the project envisages deployment of RITES experts as part of technical assistance for a period of 18 months, training of senior CFM officials in India, supply of diesel electric locomotives and five different types of passenger coaches.

Additionally, the project also envisages Diesel Multiple Unit train-sets, self-propelled Accident Relief Train, workshop equipment, inspection cars, rail-cum-road vehicles and other equipment required for railway rehabilitation, added the release.
