BARBECUE lovers now have a new destination in Chennai, Ask, at the Le Royal Meridien.

The poolside barbecue, which opens on Fridays and Saturdays between 7.30 p.m. and 11.30 p.m. will offer a wide range of grills, skewers and `kebabs.'

Ask, and you will get it, says Ms Nalina Saravanan, Operations Manager, Le Royal Meridien. She was addressing a group of journalists who were treated to a choice of Ask's barbecues on Saturday evening. Ask was set up not just to use the ample poolside space that the hotel had, but also to offer its patrons something new. Barbecues have emerged a popular specialty and have a universal appeal among the young and the not so young, she says.

Adding pep to the barbecue will be the Kabana bar and a live band. Available for the asking for non-vegetarians are over 70 different choices of barbecues combine 7 different marinades and 10 cuts of meat. This can be followed up with naans, rotis and biriyanis. The vegetarians can go for the cottage cheese and vegetable range.

At Rs 475 a head for vegetarians and Rs 575 for the non-vegetarians, the barbecue is not going to burn a hole in anybody's pocket, says Ms Saravanan.
