HYDERABAD: Jindal Poly Films Ltd (JPFL), a manufacturer of flexible packaging films, expects its first phase expansion to be completed by the year-end, according to its Managing Director, Mr S.K. Mittal.

He said the company (formerly Jindal Polyester Ltd) is undertaking expansion of its BOPET films (polyester films) and BOPP films (polypropylene films) production capacities and installing additional coating and metallising lines for producing high value-added products at a total capital outlay of Rs 650.5 crore.

The company has a BOPET film capacity of 86,000 tonnes per annum, BOPP film capacity of 45,000 tpa, metalliser plant of 12,000 tpa and polyester chips of 1.21 lakh tpa. By December-end, the metalliser capacity would increase to 26,000 tpa, he said.

In the second phase, the BOPET film capacity would increase to 1.11-lakh tpa, BOPP film to 90,000 tpa, metalliser plant to 40,000 tpa and polyester chips to 1.71 lakh tpa by September next year, Mr Mittal said.
