BHUBANESWAR: National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco) has achieved a 28-per cent jump in net profit to Rs 280.56 crore for the first quarter ended June 2005, from Rs 219.03 crore in the corresponding period of 2004-05, according to unaudited financial results on record at the board of directors meeting held here on Friday.

Similarly, the sales turnover of the company increased to Rs 1,071.70 crore from Rs 891.35 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, registering a jump of 20 per cent.

The company also achieved higher metal production of 87,153 tonnes (73,454 tonnes), according to an official release.
