HYDERABAD: Taj-GVK Hotels and Resorts plans to add 200-250 rooms in the next two years.
It currently has 515 rooms in its three hotels in the city.
"In one-and-half years the Falaknuma property will be ready with about 80 rooms," Mr Sanjay Sethi, who recently took over as Area Director (Hyderabad) and General Manager, Taj Krishna, said. He replaced Mr Veer Vijay Singh, who moved to Sri Lanka to manage the Taj properties there.
The company was in the race for a five-star hotel at Madhapur. Mr Sethi told reporters here on Tuesday that the city had about 900 rooms in the five-star category. By 2009, the number could touch 2,400.
He said Hyderabad and Bangalore had very high growth rates in the hospitality industry.
