THE Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will take steps to simplify procedures for filming in India, said an official release.

The Film and Television Producers Guild discussed issues relating to the single-window clearances, piracy and copyright, fiscal regime, broadcast regulation and export promotion at a meeting in the Prime Minister's Office, according to an release issued today.

The meeting considered suggestions of the industry to create a promotional regime to accelerate growth of the entertainment industry, it added.

To encourage export of films, TV programmes and music products, it was decided to examine, along with Ministry of Commerce, setting up of an Export Promotion Council.
