Ukraine is keen to establish a joint venture with the Andhra Pradesh Government to mine beach sand minerals and establish a titanium production plant.

The proposal is for a joint venture with the A.P. Mineral Development Corporation (A.P.M.D.C). Besides titanium, Ukraine is also interested in exploring natural gas from K.G. Basin and to establish ammonia-based fertilizer units in the State with an investment of Rs 8,000 crore. These issues were discussed by a delegation from Ukraine headed by Mr Firtosh Dmitri and Dr Jugendra Singh Raghav, Managing Director of Stork Handelsges m.b.h, Austria, who met the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Friday. The Chief Minister assured required support and cooperation from the Government side. The Secretary, Industries Department, Mr B. Kripanandam, also took part in the discussions, according to official sources.
