The Lord Mayor of London, Mr Alderman David Brewer, who represents the global financial services industry based in the City of London, will be in Hyderabad on Monday 27 to inaugurate and address a seminar on `The City of London: Your Gateway to Global Business'.

Organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the seminar is designed to explain to Indian business the benefits of investing in London. Specific themes include London as the optimal point for accessing global investors, a source of legal advice and consultancy and as a global centre for insurance against risk.

India's Satyam Group will also make a presentation to showcase how Indian business are succeeding through their presence in London, according to a press release from the British High Commission.

The release said UK is the third biggest investor in India, and India is the eighth largest investor in the UK.

The Lord Mayor said Indian firms stepping on to the world stage could look to London for help.

In 2005, emerging market companies raised more than $13 billion in London and the city is home to the world's largest pool of international investment funds.
