More than 10,000 jobs in IT, ITES and non-IT fields on offer

There is palpable excitement in Coimbatore as the second edition of `The Hindu Opportunities Fair' opens in the city on July 22. The first fair conducted here last year was a runaway success with more than 55,000 job seekers, both fresh graduates and those with experience, flocking the venue in search of jobs.

On offer this year are more than 10,000 jobs in IT, ITES and non-IT related fields. In fact, apart from the number of participants, the sheer variety of jobs on offer is set to make the fair a memorable event.

Mr J. Solomon Prabakar, DGM (Advt), The Hindu, Chennai, said he expected around 35,000 candidates to be interviewed during the two-day fair by their potential employers. Already, in respect of nearly 30,000 applicants, the screening has been completed. He expected the screening process for the rest of the 5,000 candidates to be allowed entry to be completed by Friday. The applicants called for interview should bring a printout of the communication for being allowed entry into the venue.Among the participants are the general engineering giant ABB Ltd, Cognizant Technologies, WIPRO, Patni Computers, Accenture, HCL, Verizon Data Services, SunTec Business Solutions, Spheris India Pvt Ltd, Reliance Communications, Pricol Ltd, S.P.Apparels, Sabare International Ltd, Classic Polo, Honeywell Industries, Maersk Global Services and the Chennai Silks.
