A free cardiac check-up camp will be conducted on August 30 & 31 exclusively for diabetic patients. The camp will be held at Manipal Heart Foundation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both days.

Cardiac consultation by senior cardiologists, ECG, BP and sugar tests will be conducted apart from ECHO test on doctor's advice. Any further investigations and treatmentlike angioplasty, angiogram or surgeries, if needed, will be conducted at discounted costs.

Patients attending the camp will be required to being their previous medical records for reference. Dr Pratibha of Manipal Acunova said, "Diabetic patients are more at risk of having cardiac problems than non-diabetic patients. The diabetic population is high in South India. They have silent ischaemia and myocardial infraction (MI) than normal people. Silent MI is a major cause of mortality in diabetic patients. If cardiac problems are identified at an early stage in diabetic patients their morbidity and mortality rate can be reduced to a great extent." Contact for registration: Dr Ravi/Ms Anitha at Manipal Acunova; Phone numbers: 9880883733 / 9886196987.
