"When you join a company, you need to understand the purpose of the company. The purpose of the company should excite you. Explore and find the purpose, go along with it and enjoy it. If you don't conform to the norms of the company, then you will be ejected," said Mr V. Balaraman, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Adrenalin eSystems Ltd, Chennai, to nearly 400 students of various business schools who had gathered at Vael's Institute of Business Administration for the management meet organised in association with the
"When you join a company, you join as part of a large team. You have to deal with human beings. On many an occasions, management graduates lack the confidence of working in a team. It is primarily because you are unfamiliar in working with other human beings. Learn to work in an unfamiliar situation," advised Mr Balaraman in his keynote address.
Students need to develop a certain level of maturity about winning and losing a match, he elaborated. He exhorted the students to involve themselves in extra curricular activities as one could learn from the experience.
Mr G.S. Ramesh, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, said, after inaugurating the meet, "What is MBA? It is not Master of Business Administration but acumen. All schools are the best schools; all brains are the best brains. The difference is how one applies himself/herself. The paradigm `survival of the fittest' shifts to `survival of the fastest'." He also listed five Cs competence, confidence, creativity, commitment and compassion as well as four Ds dream what you want to be; desire to achieve the dream; design to achieve the dream and delivery of the desire, as important for a student's success.
Dr Ishari K. Ganesh, Chairman, Vel's Group of Institutions, released the VIBA newsletter and the first copies was received by Mr Balaraman and Mr Ramesh.
