The IIM-A Alumni has set up an "IIM-A Alumni Trust" to enhance the "IIM-A Brand" and the Trust plans to sponsor specific activities like scholarships to underprivileged students, research grants to faculty and students, funding of seminars, publications and endowing chairs, and funding physical and soft infrastructure.

Towards the first initiative, the IIM-A Alumni Trust has offered four merit-cum-means scholarships to deserving students in the first year of the two-year post-graduate programme (PGP) at IIM-A.

These scholarships are named after Dr Vikram Sarabhai, Prof Ravi Mathai, Prof S.K. Bhattacharya and Prof Kamla Chaudhry. Each scholarship is of Rs 50,000, the Institute said in a release here on Wednesday. Prof Bakul Dholakia, Director of IIM-A, awarded these scholarships to Mr Pranav Kumar, Ms Shruti Kapoor, Mr Vikramaditya Narendra and Ms Anupama Jangid at a function held at the Ravi Mathai Auditorium on Tuesday in the presence of the IIM-A Alumni, the faculty and the students. Earlier this year, IIM-A received an endowment of Rs 1 crore from Warburg Pincus whose Indian arm had many IIM-A alumni. This amount will be used over the next 10 years by the Institute to support the financial needs of students who are unable to afford fully or partially the cost of education at IIM-A.
