More than 90 manufacturing companies from 18 countries, including the US, the UK, Poland, Belgium and Canada will exhibit latest capabilities and technologies at the three-day meeting of the Indian Society of Non Destructive Testing (ISNDT) beginning in Hyderabad on December 7.

In addition to the exhibition at the Hitex Grounds, a national seminar featuring over 140 scientific papers on non-destructive testing technologies would be held concurrently, said Mr Jaiteerth R. Joshi, Convenor of NDE 2006.

A special session on digital radiography, which is the latest in NDT, would focus on the small and medium enterprises. NDT uses X-rays, gamma rays, ultrasonic waves and so on to test the health of materials and structures without causing any damage.

The Hyderabad Chapter of ISNDT, which is hosting the national meet, said participants from India, including companies, were expected in large numbers.
