All these and more quality products from reputed international and domestic brands will be showcased at the second edition of The Hindu Metro Plus Lifestyle consumer exhibition, which opens here between December 22 and 25.

Leading brands

Over 130 leading brands/product exhibitors covering automobile, furniture/furnishing, handicrafts, interior décor, electronics, home appliances, fast moving consumer goods, textiles, luxury items, jewellery and services such as IT and banking will feature in the second `Metro Plus' lifestyle fair to be held at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex here.

Samsung, the anchor-sponsor for the Metro Plus fair early this year in Chennai, is once again the `presenting' sponsor for this fair too and it is expected to unveil its latest offering through this fair.

"Among our latest electronic goods to be showcased in the fair will be the high definition 1,800 liquid crystal display TV model as we feel the Coimbatore Lifestyle fair would be an ideal platform for unveiling these models,'' said Mr Ganesh, Product Manager, Samsung's audio-video business in South.

The four-day fair is being co-sponsored by RmKv Silks, Classic Polo from Tirupur, Ideal Stores and the Mumbai-based jewellers Gitanjali group. The other associates in the fair are HDFC (banking partner) and the Bangalore-based Icare Communications, who will be the event managers for the show.

Briefing presspersons, Mr Supratik Datta, Assistant General Manager, Advertisement Marketing, The Hindu, said since the first ever show staged in Chennai in 2004, the Hindu Metro Plus Lifestyle fair has emerged as one of the largest consumer exhibitions in the South and the varied product categories being brought under one roof has turned the fair a one-stop shop for the consumers.

This year's Coimbatore fair, the 7th one in the series and to be held on a 65,000 sq ft area, will be clearly the biggest consumer event in the city in terms of diversity and quality brands. Visakhapattinam and Delhi, according to him, may also soon be included in the Metro Plus Lifestyle fair map. RmKV, for example, will display its grand `reversible' designer silk saree that would feature four different pallus and four borders in two distinct body colours and designs, said Mr Manicka Vasagam, Managing Partner of RmKV. Similarly, the fair will be the launch pad for Ideal Stores' new product offers. according to Mr Adka Sreesh, Managing Director of Ideal Stores. The apparel `Classic Polo' brand would unveil its new branded trousers/shirts, according to Mr C.S. Baskar, Chief Operating Officer of Royal Classic Mills, the makers of Classic Polo.The Metro Plus Lifestyle Fair to be open between 10 a.m. and 8.30 p.m. on will be inaugurated by Ms Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siru Thuli, city-based voluntary environmental forum, on December 22. The entry for the fair is priced at Rs 20 a ticket and every ticket will come with a free gift.
