AFTER disaster management, Internet and multimedia, it's now fashion studies that is to be included among the elective subjects for high school students in the country.

According to a release, Mr Ashok Ganguly, Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), said the move was part of bringing in several new initiatives including introduction of new subjects.

Fashion studies is being introduced as an elective subject for class XI. The course material has been designed in collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).

Web and Multimedia Technology was introduced in the last academic year for class XI.
