THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has forwarded the finance accounts and the appropriation accounts to the State Government on December 27 for being placed before the Sate Legislature.

Announcing this, an official spokesman said here that CAG each year prepares the finance accounts of the State Government showing the year's receipts and disbursements for the State under the CAG's (Duties, Powers ad Conditions of Service) Act, 1971.

CAG also compiles the appropriation accounts of the State Government showing excess or savings under each grant or appropriation passed by the legislature.

Both these accounts are submitted to the State Government for being laid before the State Legislature.
