THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Tuesday sent a 15-member medical team to the Andaman Islands, where thousands of people are in need of medical attention in the wake of the tsunami tragedy.

A spokesman of the IMA State unit said here that the team, consisting 11 doctors and four male nurses, was sent in response to an appeal from the Union Government. Dr K.S. Lal heads the team.
