BANGALORE: Cornell University of the US on Tuesday singed a memorandum of understanding with Dharwad University for collaborative research programmes and exchange of students and faculty and technology in food security, nutrition and environment protection.

The MoU was signed by Dr Susan Henry, the Ronald P. Lynch dean of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Cornell and Dr S.A.Patil, Vice-Chancellor of Dharwad University.

Cornell University, which has been associated with Indian institutions from the time of the `Green Revolution' had stepped up its partnership extensively involving industry, Government, public research institutions and academic centres of excellence that are engaged in agriculture and food chain development.

Ongoing technology partnerships involve the Indian Council of Agricultural Research institutions and institutions supported by the Department of Bio-Technology and Agricultural Universities.
