THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prakriti Vandana Yatra, the curtain raiser event to Prithvi 2005, the 10-day Global Eco-Friendly Meet that gets under way here on February 19, concluded here on Thursday.
The Yatra had been flagged off from the banks of River Chandragiri in the northernmost district of Kasaragod on January 21.
At the concluding function here, the Yatra captain, Mr Raghava Prasad, handed over the torch to noted environmentalist and poetess Sugathakumari. This was followed by a public function.
Over 3,000 people and hundreds of environment activists took part in the Yatra that passed through 82 major points in the State, a spokesman for the Swadeshi Science Movement, the organisers, said here.
