NEW DELHI: A confluence of silk producers, weavers, manufacturers, exporters, importers, buying agents, consumers and foreign designers have come together here at the Silk Week celebrations, launched by the Textile Minister, Mr Shankersinh Vaghela.

Organised by the Indian Silk Export Promotion Council with the Central Silk Board (CSB) at the Pragati Maidan exhibition centre of the India Trade Promotion Organisation, the highlights of the programme include showcasing the "Vanya" the Wild Silk of India. Eri, Tasar and Muga are known as Vanya silks as they are found mostly in forests and are popular for their unique colour and lustre , the CSB said here on Friday.
