HYDERABAD: Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, has launched the CII and City & Guilds (C&G) project on enhancing the skills of the youth at Machilipatnam in Krishna District on Sunday.

Addressing a gathering after launching the project, the Chief Minister said the initiative would go a long way in increasing employability of the educated youth in rural areas.

The `skills initiative' project, being taken up by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and City & Guilds, was aimed at developing and spreading internationally benchmarked occupational skills among the youth.

In the first phase, the project covered trades in plumbing, painting and electrical installation. "This would be extended to other fields in the subsequent phases," a CII press release said here.
