THE visa section at the British Deputy High Commission in Chennai will remain closed from May 23 to 31, while the commission moves to a new premises.

According to a notice on the Web site "www.ukvisas.gov.uk'', the Visa Application Centres will continue to accept all applications except for working holidaymakers during the closure, but all the applications will be sent to the visa section in Delhi for processing.

There will be an additional processing fee to cover transportation costs. The press release said that the Chennai office would be able to deal with enquiries during the closure.

During the closure, the Chennai office will help when there is a genuine emergency, such as serious illness of a close family member or urgent medical treatment.
