THE Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) has a new Chairperson in Dr Isher Judge Ahluwalia. She succeeds Dr I.G. Patel, who passed away on July 18 this year.Dr Ahluwalia is currently Chairperson, Board of Trustees, IFPRI (International Food Policy Research Institute), Washington; Vice-Chairperson, Planning Board, Punjab and Member, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council. She was Director and Chief Executive, ICRIER from 1998 to 2001.
ICRIER is an autonomous non-profit research organisation instituted to promote policy-oriented research and debate on issues central to India's international position and its global economic exposure.
