BANNARI Amman Institute of Technology (BIT) at Sathyamangalam near Erode and the North Carolina Agriculture and Technology State University (NCATSU) have joined hands to expand the levels of activity for the students, faculty and the institutions.

They have proposed to work together to achieve the best in education and research. As part of this initiative, BIT is hosting the first three-day international conference on `Advances in materials, product design and manufacturing systems'. Dr James C Renick, Chancellor, NCATSU, inaugurated the conference on Monday.

Among others, 20 foreign delegates are attending the conference.

The BIT Chairman, Mr S. V. Balasubramaniam, indicated that the college would soon to offer a degree programme on materials engineering.
