The functioning of Osmania University and other colleges in the State capital is back to normal after a serious disruption for over a month due to the agitation for a separate Telangana State.
Students were seen in large numbers at the Osmania University campus colleges on Friday following fruitful discussions between the leaders of the joint action committee of students and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof T. Tirupathi Rao, on Thursday.
The student leaders agreed to restore normalcy in academic schedules and appear for semester examinations which are to begin from January 19.
The situation at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) is also normal as the classes for the second semester had already commenced.
“Except on a couple of occasions, the University remained undisturbed and peaceful in the recent agitation for Telangana,'' a senior University official told Business Line.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad which had begun new semester classes on January 4, and the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-H) have started the normal academic routine.
