LASON India today said that it planned to add 1,600 employees over the next year, taking its employee strength in the country to over 8,000.

The company has expanded its operations by moving into a new facility of over 56,000 sq ft in Chennai.

Speaking to the press, Mr Ronald Risher, President and CEO of Lason Inc, the Indian subsidiary's parent, said that this follows growth that the company has experienced resulting in the opening of three more BPO centres in North America.

Two top executives in the Indian subsidiary, Mr Ranjit Pisharoty and Mr Pradeep Nevatia, who were Managing Director/CEO and President/Chief Ttechnology Officer respectively, had recently quit to pursue other opportunities.

Asked to comment on the departure, Mr Risher said, "It was an amicable parting of ways." He added that Lason now has an executive leadership team, led by Mr Thomas W Denomme, Executive Vice-President-operations, who will continue to be based out of the US.
