Thomson Prometric to conduct exams

The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), a provider of vendor neutral certifications for IT professionals, on Wednesday announced opening of its India operations by extending the availability of its certification for individuals and organisations in technology industry.

The company has teamed up with test delivery organisation Thomson Prometric to offer 11 IT certification programs including PC hardware, networking, servers, Internet, e-business, project management, training, Linux, Security, home technology and document imaging.

To address the rising need for skilled integrators in RFID networks, CompTIA would also launch an RFID certification exam, next month. The new certification exam would be an internationally recognised validation of the technical knowledge required of entry-level RFID professionals.

Thomson Prometric, would deliver CompTIA certification exams in India.

"For technology to be implemented properly and profitably, a skilled, trained and certified IT workforce is required. Our certification aims to not only address this need but also provide competitive advantage to the Indian IT industry for winning global business," Mr John Venator - President and Chief Executive Officer, CompTIA, said at a press conference here.
