Bangalore, Nov. 22
The Chairman and CEO of networking major Cisco Inc, Mr John T. Chambers, will visit India on December 6 and 7. This will be his second visit in two years and the third since 2001.
Mr Chambers, who will visit Delhi and Bangalore, would be meeting with ministers, senior government officials, industry leaders, key customers and partners.
"India has become a key part of Cisco's operations worldwide and is one of the fastest growing markets in the Asia Pacific Region. The fact that Mr John has chosen to visit the country for the third time demonstrates the importance of India to Cisco and provides an opportunity to focus on the next phase of Cisco's growth plans in India," said Mr David Caspari, Interim President, Cisco India.
During Mr Chambers' last visit to India in October 2005, Cisco announced a three-year, $1.16-billion investment plan in India. The company, which set up its operations in India in 1994, has a 2,000 strong workforce, which not only includes the sales and marketing personnel but also a large team of research and development engineers.
