THE Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) on Wednesday said it has implemented Oracle applications to offer services such as online registration of software exporters and online procurement.

"We have gone live with online registration of exporters and online procurement. The implementation of the Oracle Applications will not only help in improving process efficiencies within the organisation but also help in simplification of procedures for 7,000 export units throughout the country," said Mr Arvind Kumar, Senior Director of STPI, which is an autonomous society under Ministry of Communications and IT.

In the second phase, Oracle applications would cover other functions of the organisation. "Once the Oracle implementation is over, we will not only be able to reduce transaction time for the existing units, but will also be able to gear up to effectively provide services to the ever expanding base of software export units," he added.

The project is being managed by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
