Tata's XETA

TATA Motors has launched a new version of its small car. Christened Indica V2 XETA, the petrol-powered car with a 1.4-litre engine is said to deliver a mileage of 14 kmpl under standard test conditions. The XETA's engine, delivering 70 PS, is far more powerful than the earlier version. Besides common black and silver, the car is available in three flashy hues. The XETA is touted be among the first few small cars to sport beige interiors. Besides these compelling features, the pricing is also attractive, at Rs 2.94 lakh for the AC model. Customers may avail themselves of loans of up to 90 per cent from select financiers over a seven-year period with EMIs as low as Rs 4,471.

GM set to launch three cars in 2006

GM plans to roll out three new cars between February and June, which it showcased recently. Among the models unveiled were Chevrolet Aveo U-VA ( hatchback), Aveo ( sedan) and Optra SRV (a sports utility vehicle). All the models will be launched under the Chevrolet brand. The cars are said to incorporate latest technology, and engines with capacities between 1.4 and 1.8 litres would form the heart of the cars.

Toyota extends Innova offer

Encouraged by the overwhelming response to its offer on the Innova Toyota, ICICI Bank has extended the offer. Customers who had missed the opportunity can cash in on the offer, which is available until January 31 or till stocks last. The Toyota Triple Treat offer is available only on loans with tenures of 36 months or more. The offer is expected to save Rs 80,000 for the customer. Buyers may choose any of the three options available under the offer loans at an interest rate as low as 1 per cent, zero down payment or an EMI as low as Rs 9,999 (available only for G1 petrol and diesel variants). The offer, however, does not cover the `E' grade.

Ford's discount on Fusion

Ford is offering a special discount of about Rs 64,000 on its hatchback Fusion. Buyers can drive out the Fusion, which is powered by all-aluminium 1.6-litre Duratec engine, for about Rs 5.6 lakh. The discount is available on purchases until January 28.

TVS rolls out new tyres

TVS Tyres plans to roll out 10 more new two-wheeler tyres during the course of the year. Early this month, it showcased seven new products in Hyderabad. TVS Tyres is targeting the younger generation with these launches. Crusader and Terminator are touted to have been developed keeping in mind the requirements of bikes in the 150cc segment. Jumbo and Dragon are targeted at the economy bikes.
