The officers in the major ports and dock labour boards will take mass casual leave on July 5 to press their demand for immediate implementation of the revised pay-scales.

Notice served

Accordingly, the port level unit of the All-India Major Ports & Dock Labour Boards Officers Federation in each port has served notice to the respective chairmen.

The Shipping Ministry too has been informed of it.

Prior to it, the officers will wear black badges on June 28 and observe satyagraha on June 30 in support of their demand, according to a statement issued by the federation.

It may be noted that the pay revision of port and dock labour board officers became due from January 1, 2007.
