Reliance Industries, which recently announced megaplans for its retail venture, has offered to hire asubstantial number of ex-servicemen as it expands in theretail domain. Colonel (Retired) S.P. Nanda, Vice-President, Reliance Industries, said at a function herethat the company had a capacity to hire almost 60,000uniformed men who have retired from service, for theretail venture. A large number of jobs are also beingcreated by the Group in specialised professions such asdrivers for cranes, bulldozers, earthmovers and heavymachinery operators. Meanwhile, Reliance Retail saidthe company requires almost five lakh employees for theventure and it accepts Mr Nanda's decision to hire retiredservicemen. - Our Bureau
