Italian kids wear brand Monnalisa is entering the Indian market through garment manufacturing firm Kads Fashion of India. "We have just entered into a license agreement with Monnalisa under which we will produce and sell in India the garments designed by our Italian partner," said Mr Bharat Bhaskar, Director, Kads Fashion.

Kads plans to take the brand nationwide in January next year but will have a "soft launch" in September in 40 multi brand stores in Delhi-NCR in September. The garments would cater to the 0-15 age group of children and would include accessories such as scarves, hats and caps. It will be priced "a little higher" than other kids wear brands, but would be affordable.

On his India entry, Mr Piero Jacomoni, President and Chief Executive Officer, Monnalisa, said, "India is one of the big emerging economies and we think our brand will do well here." The Italian brand is available in 50 countries through a network of boutiques and malls and also through its flagship stores in Doha, Beijing and Milan among other places.
