GRT is launching an aggressive campaign to promote its platinum bridal collection. Mr G.R. Ananthapadmanabhan, Managing Director, GRT, said the promotion was aimed at customers buying at least one piece of platinum jewellery in the coming festive season. He said GRT came out with this collection in response to the increasing demand for platinum jewellery for weddings.

The collection has jewellery for the bridegroom too. The price ranges from Rs 8,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh per piece, with an entire set costing about Rs 10 lakh. He said that Chennai is the largest market for platinum jewellery, which contradicts the belief that platinum does not suit dark skin. Forty per cent of the advertising cost would be shared between GRT and Platinum Guild of India with GRT's 40 per cent working out to anything between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 35 lakh, he said.
