Franklin Templeton Investments (India) has appointed Mr Vivek Kudva as President - India. He will be responsible for overseeing the India Asset Management business and will be working closely with the Managing Director for Asia & CEEMEA region, Mr. Rajiv Vij, a company release said.

"Franklin Templeton continues to be excited about the growth opportunities in India, which has been one of the `focus countries' of our international business, and Mr Vivek's extensive knowledge and experience along with a long term perspective are ideal for this key position. We believe that his keen understanding of the financial needs of Indian consumers and strong leadership will help us towards fulfilling our objective of becoming a household name in India," Mr Vij was quoted in the release.

Mr Kudva has been working with National Bank of Oman as a General Manager and prior to that, was the Country Head of HSBC's Personal Financial Services in India.
