Chennai, June 2

Top Executives of all commercial banks have been asked to visit rural and semi urban branches to ensure efficient and speedy implementation of the Agricultural Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme, in a time-bound manner before June 30.

As part of this exercise, Mr M.S. Sundara Rajan, Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Bank visited two rural branches in Vellore district, namely Kaveripakkam and Ocheri, to have the first hand knowledge of the list of eligible farmers being prepared by the branches and to guide the branches for effective and timely implementation of the scheme. Mr A. Subramanian, Executive Director, visited two branches namely Mappedu branch in Tiruvallur district and Thiruppukuzhi branch in Kancheepuram district. –
