PUNJAB & Sind Bank has announced the launch of eight-to-eight banking at select branches in West Bengal from January 16.

According to a communication received from the bank's zonal office here, Punjab & Sind Bank's Bansdroni branch and its soon-to-be-launched branch at Salt Lake would be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. The bank would also convert extension counters at Behala, Birati, Garia and Sahaganj into full-fledged branches.

BoB launches Nagrik Bachat Khata

Meanwhile, as an extension of its customer-centric initiatives, Bank of Baroda has launched the Nagrik Bachat Khata, a new Savings Bank product for the general public.

According to a bank communication, anyone can open a SB account with an initial deposit amount of Rs 50 only. No service charge would be levied even if the balance in the account goes down to below Rs 50. People maintaining such accounts can withdraw money through withdrawal slips. The interest rate, periodicity and method of application of interest would be similar to usual SB account.

It has been stated that the product has been designed to provide banking facilities to common people, especially wage earners, workers in the unorganised sectors, housewives, students, etc. It would be available at all metros, urban, semi-urban and rural centres of the bank.
