Speaking to presspersons, at the inauguration of the first branch of the bank here, he said the bank had a strong presence in the non-resident Indian (NRI) segment and a decision had now been taken to give a thrust to the retail business.

Mr S.V. Parthasarathy, another Executive Vice-President, said that the bank has been offering a number of innovative products and schemes to its clients such as Indus International Mahila Card and IndusSenior Citizens.

Recently, it rolled out two inward remittance products for its NRI clients, as also for non-customers, namely, Indus Fast Remit and Indus Speed Remi that are online money transfer products. While the former aimed at NRIs in the US in association with the Bank of New York, the latter aimed at NRIs in the Gulf in association with a number of Exchange Houses there.
