The coalition government at the Centre has completed one year in office.

Self-congratulatory messages on its "achievements" have been issued by the Ministers.

But the real achievement is that they have survived in their positions for a year despite the internal contradictions and pulls and counter pulls of the participating parties.

The latest instance of the policy of "ends justify means" is the dissolution of the Assembly in Bihar, owing presumably to fears of horse-trading by parties.

The ruling parties, which approve the decision, should for a moment put themselves in the position of NDA and ask themselves as to how they would view the situation.
