Pick a Winner Stock Contest
|
All you have to do is to select a scrip among those quoted in the
National Stock Exchange that, in your opinion, is likely to record the
highest rate of growth in value during the month.
You win Rs 10,000 if the scrip you picked records the highest rate of
growth in value among the entries received.
Rules:
1. You can send only one entry for the month. If you send more than one
entry, only your first entry will be considered. Entries with PO Box
addresses will not be considered.
2. The rate of growth in value of a scrip will be calculated by taking
the closing price of the scrip on the NSE on the first and last trading
days on which the scrip was traded during the month. Example:
Company A
Closing price 01-08-2006 Rs 50
Closing price 31-08-2006 Rs 70
Rate of growth (%) (Rs 70 - Rs 50) / Rs 50
0.40 or 40%
3. Scrips that are trading at less than Rs 10 on the first trading day
of the month will not be considered.
4. The rate of growth in value will be calculated based on prices
reported by the NSE. No adjustments will be made for the scrip going
ex-rights or ex dividend. However, if there is a stock split or a bonus issue
for which the record date falls during the month, the closing prices
will be adjusted to make it comparable with the prices at the beginning
of the month.
5. Entries must be submitted on the online
application form available at our website (www.businessline.in) from
the first to the twelfth of the month. Entries sent by any other means
will not be considered.
6. Please identify your scrip correctly: Look up the NSE ticker symbol
of the scrips traded and enter the NSE symbol carefully as entries with
the wrong symbol will not be considered.
7. In case there is more than one entry with a scrip recording the
highest rate of growth in value, the prize will be divided equally among
the winners.
8. The contest is not open to employees (and their relatives) of
Kasturi & Sons Ltd.
9. The winning entries will be published in the Business Line in the
first week of the month following the contest
10. The decision of the EDITOR, BUSINESS LINE, will be final and
binding on all the participants.
