Allied Blenders and Distillers Pvt Ltd (ABD) has entered the semi-premium brandy segment in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala with the launch of Lord & Master-French Grape Brandy.
Brandy is the second largest in the India Manufactured Foreign Liquor (IMFL) category after whisky with 24 per cent contribution of the Indian alcohol beverage industry. The South Indian market dominates the brandy sales in t he country.
Commenting on the occasion of the launch, Mr Deepak Roy, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allied Blenders and Distillers, said the brandy would be available in one litre to 180 ml packs and the price ranges between Rs 500 and Rs 120. ABD, a Kishore Chhabria-promoted company aims to garner 10 per cent share of the segment in the first year of launch in both markets, a release said.
