Mr Anand Mahindra, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra Group, was presented IMC Juran Quality Medal for 2010 by Mr K. Sankaranarayanan, Governor of Maharashtra, here on Thursday. The IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Awards were also presented to 33 organisations in manufacturing, service, education and healthcare.
Addressing the gathering Mr Mahindra, said: “Time has come for the business community to take the concept of quality from boardroom to pavements, and each one of us has to think ‘What can I do to improve the quality of life around me'. Affluence in society tends to correspond to enhanced quality consciousness, but in the case of our country, this does not seem to hold true.”
Mr Sankaranarayanan, said: “Awards such as the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality help in identifying the milestones for an organisation which has to be achieved before it can become world class.”
