Ashok Leyland said on Wednesday that it has bagged a $23.3-million order for 290 fully-built double-decker buses from Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC). An agreement finalising the order was signed by the Chairman of BRTC and Mr Antony Lobo, Special Director-International Operations, Ashok Leyland, at Dhaka last week. In 2010-11, Ashok Leyland's exports zoomed 72 per cent to 10,306 units, in which Bangladesh had a significant contribution. Over the years, more than 9,500 vehicles (of different models) have been exported through Ashok Leyland's sole dealer - Ifad Autos.
