The Eastern region of BHEL has posted 27 per cent growth in turnover at Rs 2,190 crore during 2010-11. Profit before tax (PBT) grew by 25 per cent to Rs 114 crore. During the year, nearly 2,000 MW power equipment supplied by the company (to the regional projects) have been put on full load.
This include 2 X 500 MW Mejia thermal power station of DVC in West Bengal, 21 MW Baramura gas turbine project in Tripura, 21 MW gas turbine of IOC Haldia refinery in West Bengal, Tata Power Jojobera Unit-5 of 120 MW and 120 MW gas turbine unit at Siddhirgunj in Bangladesh.
