Footwear retailer Bata India Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 34.39 crore for the quarter ended December 2010, registering a 35 per cent increase, as against Rs 25.40 crore in the same period a year ago.
Bata's net sales increased 23.52 per cent during the three-month period under review at Rs 355.85 crore, compared with Rs 288.09 crore in last fiscal.
For the full year 2010, net profit grew 41.84 per cent at Rs 95.35 crore, up from Rs 67.22 crore in 2009, Bata said in a statement. The company's net sales increased 15.28 per cent at Rs 1,256.85 crore in 2010, compared with Rs 1,090.17 in the corresponding period a year ago. Mr Marcelo Villagran, Group Managing Director, Bata India Ltd said, “The year 2010 has been an incredible year for Bata India. During the year, we have opened a record 108 stores, each with an area of more than 3,000 sq. ft.”
