Textile firm Bombay Rayon Fashions has posted an 8.89 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 56.81 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2011.
It had reported a net profit of Rs 52.17 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
During the quarter under review, the company achieved net sales of Rs 603.82 crore, a 20.11 per cent jump from Rs 502.69 crore in the corresponding year-ago period.
For the year-ended March 31, 2011, the firm posted a net profit of Rs 226.69 crore on net sales of Rs 2,254.83 crore.
Shares of Bombay Rayon Fashions were trading at Rs 281 on the BSE, up 0.25 per cent from the previous close.
