CESC Ltd has reported a 15 per cent growth in PAT of ₹151 crore in the first quarter of 2014-15 against ₹131 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, said at a press conference here on Wednesday that CESC would commission the 300-MW first phase of the Haldia project in October, two months ahead of schedule.
The remaining 300 MW second phase was expected to go on stream in January next year, he said.
Goenka said the evacuation line and related infrastructure were ready. The added power would feed the city.
The company’s retail business division Spencer’s has improved its performance and cut losses. It sold additional 3 lakh square feet retail space in the first quarter.
