After acquisition of Modi Tyres Company Ltd recently, automotive suppliers and tyre manufacturer Continental India Ltd is ramping up its operations in the replacement market and the original equipment manufacturers space in India.
The company will increase production of its Modipuram plant beyond half a million bias truck and bus tyres (TBX) this year, and more than one million units in 2013.
€50 million
In addition, Continental India announced investments of more than €50 million to start production of radial tyres for passenger cars and commercial vehicles in the second half of 2013.
“Our investment of over €50 million in radial truck tyres will create 600-800 job in India,” said Mr Nikolai Setzer, Executive Board Member, Continental AG, and Head of the Tyre Division, during a press meet on Wednesday.
